| There are many instances where a used BGA (one that has been placed on a board, but needs to be removed and reused) will need reballing. At eTech we can accept used BGAs and reball them back to be used for future placements or we can remove the BGAs from the circuit board for you before reballing. |

| There are a couple of things to be aware of when trying to salvage old BGAs. Most BGAs have a “moisture rating”. New BGAs come from the OEM in vacuum sealed moisture resistant ESD bags. This is to prevent the BGA from absorbing moisture from the environment. |

| Once moisture enters the BGA package, it can be susceptible to internal damage (popcorning) when the chip is reflowed. The solution to this issue it to bake the BGAs for 24 hours at 125 Deg C for the JDEC standard to remove all moisture. So before removing any BGAs from a circuit board always bake out the whole PCB to eliminate any damage to the chip that needs to be reused.
