Conversion from SnPb (Tin/Lead) to Pb Free

There are several instances where a customer might want to convert from SnPb to Pb Free:

Some customers have done a “last buy” on their BGAs that are used in legacy application. If these BGAs are SnPb and now sales are growing into Europe they need to be Pb Free.
Existing process is Pb Free but BGA are only available in SnPb

There is a caveat is that the reflow temperature for Pb Free solder is about 40 Deg C higher than SnPb. eTech suggests running a first article sample to confirm the process will work for your application. We have many customers that have done the conversion to Pb Free solder successfully.
