Conversion from Pb Free to SnPb (Tin/Lead)
 
Many applications require a SnPb process for various reasons and are usually defined by the customer or industry.
  1. Government
  2. Military
  3. Medical
  4. Storage industry
These industries have waivers for using SnPb solder and do not require or want RoHS compliant products. In addition, other customers may not want Pb Free products either:
  1. Prototyping
  2. Customers that are not selling into Europe
The issue is that many component manufacturers, in an effort to be RoHS compliant only offer BGAs in Pb Free options. The easiest solution is to reball those brand new BGAs to SnPb solder an implement them right into your normal assembly process.
